April Update: The Lord is Risen!

The Lord is risen!

We pray you had a wonderful celebration yesterday reflecting on the resurrection of our Lord Jesus. Death no longer has hold over him, and so it no longer has a hold over us! The Lord Jesus is risen and reigning, and this is the foundation of our ministry as move ahead in the coming months. We have booked tickets to Oahu and are prepping for launch!

Ministry
Even though we weren't able to go on the trip, we sent a team on a ministry and vision trip to Oahu in March. These couples are praying seriously about moving to the Islands in the next year or two. The Lord answered many prayers as the team went and met with many pastors and friends on Oahu. The Lord even led them to a providential meeting with a "random" man on the beach; they found out that he was a fellow believer and has been praying for a seminary like ours to start on Oahu! Keep praying for the Figgers, the Irwins, and the Larsons as they discern how the Lord might have them involved in the Islands.

Chris recently had a great Zoom meeting with two pastor friends, one in Hawaii and one in American Samoa. It was very encouraging to see how God is working in both these brothers and to see their shared heart for the Samoan people. It was also a good reminder of the opportunities that we believe are in front of us in the coming years to serve pastors and churches in the Pacific Islands.

Chris is preaching in southern Wisconsin this Sunday and then in California at the end of the month. Pray that these last two trips would be fruitful and encouraging.

Family
We had a wonderful celebration of the Lord's resurrection with friends and family yesterday. It was great to enjoy a feast together as a reminder of God's good gifts to us in the risen Christ!

The big news for us is that we have booked one-way tickets to Oahu on July 14. That is about 3 months away--which means we have a lot to do before then. Our project for this month is to prepare our house to list and sell. We are decluttering, sorting, and working on little odds and ends around the house. Please pray for all that goes into that process, including a good offer for our house. And please pray that the Lord would provide a place for us to rent on Oahu.

We all are beginning to feel the stress of moving, but overall we are doing well. The boys are working to finish this school year, but we are also making plans for the fall. Pray that the Lord would give wisdom and provision for some school options we are considering on Oahu. 

Fundraising
We are very close to fully funded for our monthly needs, and we are praising God for this! 

To help us launch on a solid financial and organizational foundation, we're seeking a little more to help with our moving and set up expenses. The Lord has provided the bulk of these funds as well, but we are praying for another $5k more for ministry and office set up (including a good quality printer and office equipment).
Would you pray that the Lord would provide these additional funds to help us launch well and consider giving toward this need? 

We praise God for all the ways that he provides through the prayers, giving, and encouragement of his people. Thank you for being a part of this ministry. The Lord is risen, and he is at work!
