November Update

It is hard to believe we are approaching the end of the year!
Be watching for some other end of year communication coming after Thanksgiving, but we wanted to send a quick update for November before we hit all the busyness of Advent, Christmas, and the New Year.

Family
Our family is doing well overall. I think we are past the initial hump of the move, but as we get into the holiday season I think we're all missing friends and family on the mainland in various ways. We are excited to have a number of visitors coming. From late December until late March, we have groups of visitors scheduled to come.

Our oldest son Luke had a little procedure done on an in-grown toenail last month, but otherwise we have been healthy. Activities like basketball, drama, work, and music are filling up time, but we're thankful for them all. We were able to enjoy some down time over fall break, but on the day we planned to get out and do a few things together on the north shore, our van went down (again!). Please pray that we can have some permanent solutions for that. Thank you for praying for all of us!

Ministry
In the coming weekend (Nov 5–8), Chris is traveling to Hilo on the Big Island to participate in a seminar on the use of the OT in the NT. Please pray that the Lord would use it to encourage and equip pastors and churches on the Big Island.

Our Tuesday night courses are continuing on, and we are moving into the last part of the semester (only about 6-7 weeks left). Pray for our students to all be able to finish the term strong and be able to continue on in January.

God willing, we will re-launch our preaching workshops November 17–18. At this meeting, we'll be able to gather around the Word, pray, and dream together about other places we might be able to provide these workshops.

Please be praying that the Lord would open up the doors to the Pacific Islands. Most of them are still inaccessible, and several places are just getting their first COVID cases, which will likely prolong the restrictions on visitors.

Fundraising
Thank you for your continued financial support!
Please continue to give to our ministry as the Lord leads. We are so grateful for the way he uses so many of you to support this ministry.

Our big practical prayer request over the coming year will be that we can buy a house in spring or summer 2022. We think it would provide stability for our family and ministry. The home prices on Oahu are astronomical, so we are praying that God would provide in surprising ways.

Would you join us in praying for this?

Yours in Christ,
Chris and Katie
